Designed for operational resilience, the app works completely offline and synchronises securely when connectivity is available. All data is transferred via secure APIs, that follow open standards, allowing seamless integration with existing Force systems, including seized property recording platforms.
Key benefits of the solution include the elimination of double-keying, as all data is captured once and automatically transferred to Force systems, reducing administrative burden and human error. Accuracy is further enhanced through lookup fields and auto-generated unique references, ensuring full evidential integrity.
A comprehensive digital audit trail is maintained via multi-user digital signatures and automated version locking, preserving legal compliance throughout the process.
The app also offers full document management, providing access to a complete library of legally required certificates, templates and Powers – including CJPA and POCA documentation – All of which can be generated and printed directly at the scene. For transparency, redacted occupier copies are automatically produced with the necessary exclusions, while immutable closure ensures that once a search is finalised, the record is securely locked and rendered non-editable.

KIM are currently undertaking a body of work to integrate AI tooling into the platform, including AI image recognition, data reporting through simple user prompts, and AI summarisation of complex processes, to assist users of the software.
One size does not fit all so the application is highly configurable to accommodate differences in processes across organisations. Specific types of evidence require specific recording and handling so additional functionality surrounds high-risk evidence, cash, controlled drugs, firearms, vehicles and mobile phones.
KIM Software’s work extends beyond the supply of record management systems to include the ongoing review of legislation, best practice, policy and procedure to ensure we deliver systems that remain current whilst delivering real benefit to our clients and the wider community.
